Children Shouldn't Specialize In One Sport

September 18, 2016

For years I've been sounding off on children having a diverse experience in athletics and not to specialize in one sport. Last month a report from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) agreed with my view and laid out a list of detrimental effects of children specializing in specific sports.
They provided guidance to pediatricians, physicians, and parents on providing a healthy experience in youth sports.
